Portland Orff Schulwerk Association

Welcome!

Thank you for visiting the POSA web site.

The Portland Orff Schulwerk Association (POSA), a chapter of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA) was founded for the purpose of assisting teachers and students in the Pacific Northwest with the knowledge and process of the Orff approach.

POSA is an educational non-profit organization
which promotes Orff Schulwerk,
a philosophy and approach to music education
using movement and creativity to facilitate
 children's discovery and development
of the music within them.
Benefits of membership include the workshops, a twice-yearly newsletter, access to a chapter instrumentarium, and scholarships for further Orff training.

Workshops:

Every year, POSA hosts 3-4 workshops. Clicking the "workshop" link will take you to a schedule, including presenters and, once the workshop is complete, photos and resources. The pictures are here to give you ideas, remind you of the fun you had, and, if you missed the workshop, to entice you into coming to the next one.

Orff workshops are unlike most other professional development activities. Interactive, engaging, creative, and energetic, they're often the most fun you can have on a Saturday. Sign up for the next one. We can't wait to see you!

Blog with us!
That's right, POSA now has a blog! Click above or in the navigation bar, and you'll find yourself at WordPress, where you can leave a note and read what others have written. Share your ideas with our community!
Job Board!
Times are tough for music teachers. We'd love to be able to post new openings for Orff-trained educators. If you become aware of an opening anywhere in the Pacific Northwest please email us, and we'll put it on our very own Job Board!
